FA Cup 2008 5th round - Manchester United 4-0 Arsenal: What a perfect response!!

FWHWOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Who would have thought!!!

I would never have imagined that, after predicting a 5-0 win on the ManUtdSG prediction contest just out of kicks, I would actually believe that I'd hit the right score for once (after a looooooooooooong time!). In case those who were at the Crab Shack was wondering why I was already screaming for a 5-0 scoreline when we went 2-0 up from the 20th minute onwards!

(For those not in the know, the Prediction contest is a season long contest, most points for guessing correct score and correct FIRST scorer wins a prize supposedly sponsored by Crab Shack ... which I highly doubt would happen...?)

Oh well, at least I got my first scorer correct (also, for once!) - Rooney!

Well, I had wanted to keep this blog a simple collation of my latest hobby: United jersey collection ... but I suppose the blog bug has hit. Oh well, as promised earlier, I won't go too much into details of the match. (There're already many wonderful news sites, forum postings you can visit, soccernet.com or manutdsg.com for instances). Besides, it's already 4am and I've gotta wake up early for football training with the MUFCSG lads.

Still ... a marvellous and sweet win to savour! (Oh, did I mention how we at Crab Shack celebrated Barnsley's last minute goal against Poo? SHIOKADOO man! Talk about a perfect weekend!)

Night folks, and may your rest be sweet, I trust mine will be tonight.

PS. to my dear Gooner friends (Kev, Steve, Siren, Shai etc.), as I've always said (whether our team take a trashing or you guys' Arsenal does), always chin up and don't give up or despair yah? Always standing by and believing in your team gives hope and meaning ... even if you're a Leeds fan (I'm sincere on this, in case you're wondering). We've still got an exciting season ahead to look forward to! Cheers!

Can you believe that after all that, it's a goonerette who leaves your first Ole? ;o)

I'm still smarting but not so sore that I can't admit that you guys did play a better game.

Bring on AC Milan now. I want some hot Italian on my plate...

it was obvious that yanited wanted the win more. the team selections were there for all to see. Your boys were hungrier. Wayne Rooney in the first half was at his most annoying (in a good way for you) i've seen for a while. Good luck for the rest of the FA Cup, Merv.

I don't know if you agree but i thought Riley's decisions were fucking bollocks.

and seriously, all three oles are from Gooners? where the devil are the devils?

and we're still wishing you guys well for the rest of the FA Cup? magnanimous bunch, we Gooners are...

but seriously, the cup is yours to lose now, what with the likes of cardiff, barnsley, west brom etc left in the running.

i'm discounting chel$ki because i've got a feeling they'll be knocked out in the next round. i might be wrong though...

Steve: Thanks bro, appreciate your goodwill lots! Now when I think back, I felt Eboue's sending-off could have been quite harsh, though my lads are saying that there was intent and hence Riley gave the red.

One thing though, I was quite pissed that Gallas tried to provoke Nani. I guess Nani showboated a bit too much, provoked Gallas ... but then again, our boys were on a high by then.

Kev: yup, agreed, you guys are a great bunch. I'm honestly closer in the blogosphere to you guys (all three of my favourite Gunner sites ... ONLY Gunner sites I visit :D) ... I suppose none of my friends blog.

I fear United might just become too complacent with all the smaller teams for the next few rounds now (then again, we had to get through 3 Premiership teams, what the lau lor). Then again, since everyone's saying that Ronaldo only turns the style on against smaller teams, why not? :)

Let's hope you're right about Chelski being kicked out ... then again, if we were to meet them again (whether quarter-finals, semis, at Wembley, I don't care) ... I want to knock them out, revenge for last year's last-minute heartbreak.

Let's hope we meet Arsenal again in the champions league. United gets exceptionally inspired after beating the Gunners and perhaps this will bring back the same feat of 1999...

As Glenn Ong would put... (NOT!)...

"Come On You Devils!"

Hey Andy! You'd like us to meet Arsenal in the UCL final? *grin*

If it really happens, wow it'll be great if I can go to Moscow with my buddies man! Whether United or Arsenal buddies!

(hmm ... cost is another issue, not much money man ... after "investing" in jerseys *hahahaha*)
